The Free Spirit Theory
The Free Spirit Theory is a psycho-spiritual theory set written by yours truly. At its core is the idea of the individual soul’s authentic being and its need to self-actualize. Basically, what this means in simple terms is that each spirit must learn to enjoy being who they are, to seek pleasure. Each free spirit is limited only by other free spirits, who have a free will that they sometimes use to oppress others. People get in the way of each other’s pleasures, but shouldn’t. The Free Spirit Theory points out that conflict is entertaining at times; fighting and drama can be pleasurable, too. It also states that physical life, as a whole, exists purely for entertainment value. The Free Spirit Theory is all-inclusive and includes and welcomes the whole rainbow and everyone who isn’t included in the alphabet soup, too.
Your job is to learn to derive pleasure from your life. Whatever way you find it. Ignore those who find pleasures in different ways to yourself. Seek friendships among those who enjoy the same things as you – and who enjoy you being you.
The meaning of life according to the Free Spirit Theory; Genesis
If you imagine the beginning of time itself, the start of consciousness, you’d find yourself in an empty Universe. There’s nothing in there. No stars, no light, no nothing.
Now, do you NEED A REASON to create something or to have something created? No, no, you don’t, do you? At this stage, ANYTHING is better than nothing at all. If you had the power, and I believe you would have, you would have started creating swirls into the energy field surrounding you, like an artist drawing stars onto an empty canvas. Maybe not an artist, perhaps more like a toddler with a box of crayons and nobody to stop him.
We were immortal beings in the vast nothingness of the Universe, and anything was better than nothing at all. When you think of yourself as an immortal, eternal being, suddenly, your life makes a whole lot of sense. Forgetting how many lives you’ve lived before is sometimes beneficial to the entertainment value of your current lifetime, isn’t it? We can’t really die, but we can forget all about that and also having lived before. Therefore, we get to do things for the first time again. We are truly having our cake and eating it, too… Over and over and over again.
No matter how bad things get, it’s all still just entertainment of immortal beings acting stupid in a Universe where they can’t truly get hurt.
Your goal as a Free Spirititists, should you accept the mission.
First, using Free Spirit Theory terminology, discover who you are as an authentic being, the real you, unlimited, genuine, unhindered spirit. Proudly, or at least honestly with acceptance, declare it.
Secondly, become very aware of what brings you pleasure and joy. What are your favorite feelings? (they’re not exactly the same for us all. Feelings are like ice cream flavors; it’s all ice cream, but we have our favorites, some even dislike certain flavors.) What’s your dream future in this lifetime and beyond? What do you want to do and be in the next lifetime? (You can be anything.) Then, commit to working toward your dream life of pleasure and love… Same thing, really.
Third, resolve you guilt and shame. Pleasure seeking has always been treated as the wrong thing to do. Still, look at your dog having a snooze. Why doesn’t he feel guilty? Why isn’t he feeling all unfulfilled? Because he’s not TOLD TO feel guilty. You don’t beat him up every time he lays down for a snooze – I sincerely hope! (Don’t you fucking dare testing that theory on animals by disturbing them. Test it on humans: If you stop guilting your spouse for taking a nap, and start giving them pleasures, will they become happier? If you stop stressing over shit that doesn’t matter and start being a pleasure to be around, will everyone seem to love you more?)
Fourth… Do whatever. Whatever your little heart desires. Whomever you are, whatever personality category you’re placed, whatever trauma you discover, it doesn’t matter. There are no punishments other than if you get in the way of another person’s dreams, happiness, and pleasures, they have to cut you out of their life; to unfriend you. It is unpleasant, but there are also facts of life: we don’t all love everybody, not even people we should love. Ironically, that’s often because that person fails to seek pleasures, and tries to win our love by self-sacrificing which is INSANELY annoying to anyone trying to enjoy themselves. If you want to bring happiness, joy, and pleasure into another person’s life, you have to be able to feel them, first. You have to BE a pleasure to be around.
The Free Spirit Theory is a philosophy, not a religion.
The Free Spirit Theory is a very practical theory to help people navigate life in the ever more complicated human society. It is complicated in itself because people are complicated, and they should be, and they’re getting more so every day. But to simplify it all, if you remind people that they have the right and duty to seek pleasure, and they can’t keep being a constant reminder of people who don’t know how to enjoy themselves, they can’t stay. “Get on the banana lounge, or get out!”
The Free Spirit Theory is a philosophy with some spiritual and supernatural-sounding aspects. Dwelve in it if you enjoy it. Otherwise, whatever.
In regards to the spiritual aspects, the only “god” in Free Spirit Theory is the truth; the truth is god, but god is not true. Whatever is true is “god.” Base your reality on the truth, whatever you find out about the truth, not just insist that your previous idea of how things were is “gods truth,” no. The Free Spirit Theory evolves like science; if a section of it is not true, it has no place in the texts. Do not twist and warp the meaning of the word “truth” to justify idiotic, oppressive, or tyrannical views and perspectives.
As far as the spiritual aspects go, “the likely truth” is used when actual solid proof cannot be found, unlike in science. This is the freedom of philosophy.
Everything I write is in alignment with the Free Spirit Theory.
You do not need to try and find “the Free Spirit Theory posts” anywhere specifically. If I wrote it, it’s Free Spirit Theory or aligned with it. That said, the purest Free Spirit Theory texts are published on Sebastyne.com, which is the theoretical base; my other websites, publications, and life, in general, is me living as a free spirit in accordance with my theories.
Key ideas
There are certain phrases I repeat a lot. Here’s a good ran-down.
Seek pleasure. Give pleasure.
Imagine your pet dogs and cats sleeping cozily in a bundle you created. Maybe your child. Someone else you love? Don’t you love people the most when they are enjoying themselves? Even your worst enemy. Instead of thinking of a conflict with them, imagine them enjoying themselves, playing with their pets or their kids or loving their meal? When people are enjoying themselves, they are not busy making trouble. Usually. Don’t you wish everyone loved being where they are, who they are, and doing the things they love doing… Not so they have to settle for where they are, but that they had the absolute freedom to seek pleasure wherever they can get it from?
Stop fearing it. Give pleasures to those who have nothing. Food is the first, a safe sleep is the second, and then, you can go nuts with the extras. Giving people means to survive makes them dependent on you, give them pleasures and you nourish them where they are.
And enjoy the pleasure of giving pleasure. Not just trying to save people from a disaster. You create what you enjoy; if you enjoy being the hero, you need victims. Enjoy being an enabler. ;p
There’s nothing right in its wrong place, and nothing is wrong in its right place.
We Earthlings have one thing in common: We love struggle and pain. IF there are other civilizations in the Universe, all we hear of them how harmonious and peace-loving they are. Us Earthlings are cut from a different wood, and we should be proud of it, sorta. We are fantastically weird, fantastically loving of struggle and pain. We’re different. Still, we want the struggle and pain in a certain way. Each one of us with a slightly different note to it I’m sure.
Find pleasurable struggles and pleasurable pains, and forget the rest.
Earth’s true name is Eden.
Just a remark: if you think of the Universe, you see a blue and green planet in the midst of it. Completely unique. Can you see it now? It’s Eden. We never lost it. We built on it until it was unrecognizable. Well. Almost.
It’s all a huge entertainment system.
Still, the Universe around Eden, and Eden itself, is just an elaborate entertainment system. It is meant to be lived in, as there’s nothing else for us to do. We can NOT NOT LIVE. We are immortal. The one thing that any living being is unable to do is to die. Our bodies die, obviously, but as I sit here, I am in the company of spirits that I cannot tell a living from a dead one unless I can Google their name. I don’t really lose people anymore, I just lose their real-life bodies if anything. (Although I think my dog has either become too human to recognize after death or moved on completely, I don’t know. The thing is, animals are very human in spirit. They get stuff. I’ve spoken to smarter animals who are much quicker on the uptake than the average human. Logically, morally, and philosophically.)
Anyway, all of this to-and-fro is there for the entertainment value of it. If you think about that vast universe with nothing in it, and you know you’ll live forever… FOREVER… How much more sense does your life, and indeed death, make to you now? Just learn to enjoy it. Pleasure. Seek the joy of it.
Whatever happens, right? Literally, whatever happens… It passes for entertainment… And a new chance, a better body, maybe a more interesting body this time… Don’t try to learn to TOLERATE life, learn to pick and choose the cherries on top. Find all the best things in it, and forget about the rest. There is NO REASON for you to suffer or to go through suffering to find happiness. Suffering is only good when combined with pleasure.
Follow temptation; obey your sexuality.
Nature has intended certain things to be in place. In our foolish bid to become better than what we were created to be, we’ve pretty thoroughly screwed ourselves over. Humans are the only species in the world that doesn’t have the right to species-typical behavior. I am hoping to restore it. We are not evil. We’re also not saints. We’re something in between, just like all animals are. Just that as we fight against our natural instincts, something else has got to give, and that something else is happiness, balance, joy, peace, calm.
You can’t confuse lust for love. Lust can, however, direct you to your love. Temptation is the spirit’s way of marking your path to your own happiness and fulfillment. Go all the way; sometimes you have to eat your way through your pantry to find the door to Narnia – I just made that up, but you get the idea; sometimes we act in irrational ways that create the ultimate outcome. This does not happen when we try to swap one temptation with a lesser one, so be careful what you are going after. Ultimately, it’s your responsibility to make the decision over what is a replacement and what is the real goal.
You are responsible for your own mistakes and interpretations.
If you ever hear me tell you that you cannot have WHAT you are looking for, you’re reading me incorrectly. I will tell you repeatedly that you can’t always have WHO you are obsessed over, but NONE OF US wants fake love. None of us also wants what we want 100% of the time, so the fact sometimes you cannot get the lover you want is the guarantee of two things: love is real, and you can’t always get what you want, just the way you don’t want it; and this makes reality real.
However, your interpretations are your own. If you insist on misquoting me, misrepresenting me, or interpreting my advice poorly to get to make me feel responsible later, don’t bother. I know what you want, and I’m not biting. You know I am not a psychologist, I am not a scientist; I am a dressmaker and a blogger, and only an idiot would try to make me legally responsible for saying “You’ll always get everything you want 100% of the time”, lacing it up with the f-bomb whenever I feel like it, and then hold me personally responsible if my promise doesn’t seem to be happening.
Your job to fix your life, not mine. It’s not that hard.
It’s your job to figure out what is wrong; I am not here to fix your relationship with the Universe, I’m here to help, but your importance to me is one out of 8,045,311,447 people, even if 8,045,311,446 people were not reading yet. I’m not going to be responsible for any individual person’s life and relationship with the Universe, that includes YOU. You are an adult human being, and you are thus responsible for how you use my material.
You know exactly what I am, and it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to listen to me or to not to listen to me. Other than that, go fuck yourself thinking I’m still dumb enough to think that your stupidity, let alone the stupidity and helplessness you fake to get my attention, is my responsibility. It is not. And I am still angry at myself for ever having taken responsibility of other people’s stupidity and naivety when they really, really just needed to be thrown back into the kiddy pool for another basic lesson, despite their adult-length limbs. I’ve spent entirely too many lifetimes minding adult babies, and that’s going to end, even if I have to growl and act like a rebellious teenager to make that happen. No more. No more.
But. That said, I have written quite a lot of stuff for real grown-ups and people who know how to make logical conclusions for themselves without crying, “oh I didn’t know it would be hot,” when handed a cup of coffee.
