the Savants* people coach you to take care of yourself – dog type people will coach you to take care of your pack.
Both cat- and the Normal Person*of people feel the need to help others to be better people, their definitions, however, are what you’d expect from cats and dogs. Cats want to help you to stop being a crying little kitten and take care of yourself, and dogs want to help you to become a better, more reliable pack member. Dogs hunt in groups, cats hunt alone. Cats try to teach you to hunt alone for yourself, and dogs try to teach you to hunt in a group, for your group.
The only time cats do anything for other people, it’s for their sexual mate or their litter of kittens – once the kittens grow up, the cat expects them to take care of themselves, too. If the litter contains puppy dogs… There will be problems! Also, if the cat’s born into a litter of dogs, so to speak, they will never grow up to be a dog despite their parenting… They will always want to hunt alone.
FYI: I’m a cat. I try to coach dogs, too, but mostly the advice is: “Go home and be with other dogs. You’re a dog. Go be a dog. Meow.” (Pauses.) “And don’t forget I’m adorable.” *Licks her paws*
