the Normal Person* commit to a relationship type and sacrifice their own traits to it.

The way Dog-Type Thinkers and Cat-Type Thinkers view personal preferences in relationships is very different. The Normal Person* thinkers take it for granted that everyone is after a monogamous ISO-standard marriage to please their parents and bring new blood to the family. The Normal Person* would read terms like “bisexual” or “polyamorous” as descriptions of things that are threatening a committed monogamous marriage and are best declared if looking for a serious partner. The Savants* declare these so that monogamous marriage -seekers would know not to waste their effort on them, as they’re obviously NOT INTERESTED in a monogamous ISO standard marriage. They’re laying out the differences; you’ll need to be into these things, too, otherwise it won’t work!

Sometimes, the Normal Person* interprets this as: “You need to help me get this out of my system, so after it’s ‘gone,’ we can marry.” This is particularly dangerous when dealing with BDSM. The point is that whatever a person confesses to that is “against monogamous ISO standard marriage” in a dating profile can’t be anything but something that gets in the way of it and, as such, must be dealt with. It is NOT a “no can do” situation, but rather a bargain price tag: For a lowered price (you don’t need to be great), you can get this prime-looking individual if you just tolerate these little flaws in them. “Good price for a good handler,” in other words.

They view the Savants*’s personal preferences as an inconvenient barrier to their marriage plans, nothing more.

Therefore, the Savants* should consider ways to have their cake and eat it too, and avoid relationships with bargain-hunting the Normal Person* at all cost.
