Read the dating profiles before you answer them. Every Last Word.

Now. My terms are PERFECT for online dating. Once people learn them, boy, it will supercharge online dating. However, for it all to work, for ANY online dating site to work for you, you need to actually read what people are saying in their profiles, and NOT then rewrite it in your head to mean what you want it to say after.

The reason why online dating is so good for finding actual relationships is that you can say what you want right off the bat and not waste time on incompatible people at a bar if you have the instinct for it. Having said that, we’ve always managed to find compatible people without dating apps, but whatever works, it’s all fun in my books, traditional or modern. Online dating makes it a little easier to find compatible partners, but ONLY if you are HONEST, and also let other people speak for themselves without “speaking over them” in your own head.

Also, never get angry at people for BEING HONEST with you, even if they say they want something you consider immature, desperate, stupid, or “not what ‘any woman’ or ‘any man’ would want.” I guarantee you that your nightmare is someone else’s (potentially wet) dream – someone else IN YOUR OWN GENDER, so… Just say “Sorry, not for me” and go move on.
