“You should be more spiritual” Hohohhohho.
People have a very stereotypical idea of what “a spiritual” person is like. Let me fix that for you. “Spiritual” people are those who no longer suffer in life. They’ve learned to live and navigate this life and enjoy every aspect of it. Every aspect, like sex, violence, love, laughter, being a victim at times, avoiding becoming the victim, money, games… They know what they love, and they know how to avoid what they don’t love, such as sex, violence, love, laughter… you know… Each individual is different, and they’ve learned the difference between what they love, what others love, what they don’t love, and what others might not be the biggest fans of.
A spiritual person isn’t interested in your opinion of what they’re doing – they’re not CALLOUS toward it; I mean that they will take your perspective into account. They need to take your experience as a valid cause for concern, but they may also notice when YOU are being overly selfish or unreasonable in your demands. You know, like SOME of today’s transgendered people, who CLEARLY don’t even want to pass for the opposite gender just to stir up shit, so to speak, and when you fall into that trap, they attack. It is not as easy to guilt-trip a TRULY spiritual person into obedience, but it is the easiest task in the world to guilt-trip someone still practicing to become “more spiritual” and more accepting of others and so forth.
People who are working on their spirituality tend to over-correct a little. Going toward self-sacrificial when they try to avoid being selfish, most notably. Spiritual people must learn to balance what is their right and what is someone else’s right to ask of them… (Which is basically nothing, to be perfectly honest. It should be everyone’s job to learn to take care of our own needs and to inspire true love in others rather than expect to be taken into account and loved while doing nothing to inspire people to do so.)
“Be more spiritual” and follow your heart and your true desires… Try not to be so spiritual that you will go against yourself just to show you’re a rebel. In 2023, the most rebellious thing you could do these days is to stick your middle finger up and take a traditional gender role in life because you want to.
