Survivalist* try to minimize their world view to manageable, the Timeless embrace uncertainty.

Whenever Survivalist* feel insecure about their life and management of it, they try to minimize their world to something they feel is manageable in size. This is why the Survivalist* maybe drawn to BDSM, straight jackets, padded rooms, and other limited spaces when feeling distressed, because they’ll find these areas controllable. They don’t HAVE TO control anything while bound. To a Timeless, THAT creates distress and madness, and permanent psychological damage, as captivity is what the Timeless consider a Hell on Earth.

Idealist* are OK with a level of uncertainty; they accept more readily that they don’t know what they’re doing. The plan is unfinished, but they’ll figure it out as they go along. They admit to being wrong without it causing an ego injury and don’t associate uncertainty with stupidity or incompetence, the same way the Survivalist* do.

A well-adjusted Survivalist* has managed to contain their life to something they feel they can comfortably handle. Their creativity is basically following an existing tutorial nearly step-by-step. This is most people. A well-adjusted Timeless is a traveler, innovator, explorer, or researcher of any field, an artist, composing musician, writer, creator, philosopher, or all of the above, relishing the uncertain, unknown, new, and untested. Idealist* feels there is no point in doing something that has already been done, at least not exactly the same way as it’s been done before.

Survivalist* show stress by trying to minimize what they do, while the Timeless show distress by having difficulty focusing on anything, as everything they focus on may feel like a trap just waiting to snap closed behind them. Idealist* wish to do everything (an unlimited list of things) their own way, while the Survivalist* would wish to be allowed to focus on maybe one or two things or a set routine and be left alone after that.
