Is this a pretence of romance or actual love?

When people want a romantic relationship, they often must avoid certain discussion topics and find someone who will agree to shut up and slow dance with them. The whole affair will be based on not saying anything potentially controversial during the night or “you’ll ruin it.” Kinda like my mom and me at all times, but I digress. So you put on your finest clothes, take your date to the finest restaurant you can find, and slow dance, avoiding all topics that may irritate the other – and you’ll know there’s plenty.

That’s such bullshit, people.

QUIT DOING THAT!

Find someone you can talk to, even argue without the argument ever turning too serious. Find someone you can be angry with and still admire them, still think they’re the coolest, the sexiest, the most amazing person… Someone who thinks that way about you, too.

Quit with crappy romance scenes that will never result in anything real because once you marry that person, you have to keep pretending that you’re living a movie. The cameras are constantly rolling; you’ve got your lines to say and your wardrobe to maintain, or, alternatively, you relax, you start being yourselves. With the latter, every small conversation leads to a fast argument, and before long, you realize you fucking hate each other.

No. Talk about everything controversial from the start and see if it has a chance of ruining your relationship from the get-go.

Men, too. Be what you are. It’ll drive the (vacuous, entitled) bitch out of hiding before you marry her and sign half of your assets to her and have her raise your kids with another bloke who hates you, too. Nip that shit out in the bud.
