B. Meaning of Life

The meaning of life. Such a big question, right?

Imagine you are a sentient being in the vast nothingness of the eternal existence of a universe that has nothing in it. You can’t die.

Life as we know it starts to make sudden sense, don’t you think?

If you are a sentient being, and your options is to have a Universe or not have a Universe, you’d choose the Universe no matter what it is, wouldn’t you? No matter what goes on in it, you’d go: “yeah, let’s have one.”

Therefore, the Universe is nothing but a MASSIVE ELABORATE entertainment system, that is created for no particular reason but to keep us from getting bored OUT OF OUR WITS! It exists because it CAN exist. It exists because we exist. We don’t exist because it exists. Our only option is to float around doing nothing or sink into catatonia to avoid the sensation of existence.

Now, that presents both an opportunity and a dilemma. There are no rules. There are infinite opportunities. Your creativity, skills, and knowledge are both still developing, your limit, and your possibilities. And it’s all up to you to figure out what to do with this massive potential for fun and games. That’s Earth.

Imagine a playground with different aged kids on it.

You KNOW how they hate each other’s logic. “You’re RUINING IT!” is the most common complaint when different aged kids try to get along. It doesn’t matter whether the kid is the older or the younger, it’s just that their mind works at a different route and they don’t like one another very much.

That’s much like immortal souls in different levels of development, each feeling superior to the other, due to their own phase of development. “You don’t get THIS”, “why do you have to…”, “just go away and leave us be!”

We are all here just learning to get along, for everyone to have fun, not necessarily TOGETHER because there are kids who are at the age that they really just want to hang out with kids their own age (for a while), and then there are kids who want to be included into everything while their presence is nothing but intrusive and annoying. We may be adults, but our soul ages are anywhere from infant to an ancient being… And we’re still growing to ages we haven’t got an example of because nobody has reached that far, yet.

Adult time! OMG do I need some adult time!

Now.

The meaning of life: Entertainment.

Rules of life: There are no uniform rules in life… Nor should there be, as everyone is happy in a different way.

You just have to make it up as you go, and find kids to play the same game as you are, and try to not force anyone into playing the game you want to play (although, lots of kids do that, and there’s no real enforceable rule to make them stop that).

You cannot die

There is that small (kinda proven) fact1 to consider. If you consider life as an eternal state of being, you realize that what happens in this lifetime is not only inconsequential, it is also VERY consequential.

The people you choose to keep in your life will be in your life in your next lifetime. The friendships you make here, have far-reaching consequences in your immortal life, but NOT ETERNAL consequences. No matter how HORRIBLE your situation is, you’ve got all the time in the world (literally) to get over it and heal. So… What you do now determines what your life will look like in 1000 years. Still, whatever rubbish you’ve gotten yourself into, you can dig yourself out of in a few hundred years, minimum.

And since forever is such a long time, you’ll have time to mess things up again, and you’ll love the process of digging yourself out of that mess again.

Some people even create these situations half-consciously as they love the dilemma of figuring out how did this happen…?

Therefore… Where do you want to go from here? Fun and games? Find the eternal sweet spot between pleasure and pain, as you define it? Or just… You know… Decide you only live once and it’s all just atoms and shit…? I mean, I’m not judging but that just sounds kinda boring…

But then again, you can always change your mind in a few thousand years when everyone else has already aced the fuck out of life. 😀

  1. Let’s just say that the evidence to support the theory of reincarnation far outweighs the evidence to contradict it. “It cannot happen” is not evidence, it’s an unproven belief system.
