Just because they loved you once, doesn’t mean they were ever going to love you forever.
Love awakens often on an illusion. Another person may think you are one way and then it turns out you’re different from that. The truth changes things. That doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, just not the one they were looking for. Not even one of the ones they were looking for.
People romanticize their new relationships easily. They want to see this as the best friendship they’ve ever forged, the biggest love they ever felt, and finally, luck. They want a certain fantasy so much they make themselves believe they’ve found it.
True love doesn’t die, but there’s so many other variations to it that love that once was doesn’t mean it was true love. Not even if to you it met all the initial markers of true love. You just missed something. You didn’t see a sign of it being a fantasy – happens to the best of us. Even if someone loved you or seemed to love you before, doesn’t mean they’ll love you forever or again.
