“The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things losers don’t want to do.”
That’s a Dr. Phil quote, and he hit the nail on the head with that one.
Winners are often frustrated and irritated by the laziness that “losers” show all the time, while simultaneously insisting that the perks putting in the long hours brings one person belongs to all people equally. The definition of an entitled person is a person who feels they should receive the same benefits as those who put in the effort to learn, build, and evolve, without learning, building, nor evolving. You have the right to basic education, full health care (I know some Americans disagree, but us Europeans and Australians take that for granted by now), a safe and livable home, an adequate diet, and a reasonable collection of mass-produced clothes without ever working a day in your life, everything beyond that, as far as I’m concerned, is pure charity, not a right. You have a birthright to safety and long life, and that’s it. Every claim above that is feeling entitled for no reason.
The reason why I say basic living is a human right is that we should be hunter-gatherers. In the current environment, hunting and gathering are simply impossible. Therefore, the people who have claimed a sole stake in the lands that we’d all share owe it to the rest of the populous to give them access to basic feed with compensation from the government (as they do through unemployment funds, etc government pays to an unemployed person who then pays for the services they need, such as farmers). Also, clothes are there as much for other people than the person themselves, therefore, they must be included in basic rights. Nobody here is born a master of any craft, therefore, basic education must be included, as a brilliant child may be born in poverty, and if the parents have done nothing for the community so far, at least they may have provided us with a genius that we cannot leave without education. Each child belongs to the entire community, not only his or her parents.
The biggest illusion “losers” live under is that winning is easy. There is no such thing. It’s just that the benefits of work accumulate over time – and this includes past lives as well. The longer you sit on your couch clipping your toenails watching reality TV, the further behind you’ll fall. The more you make a winner do shit for you because you’re too lazy to, the further ahead the winner is moving learning to do your job as well as his own and leaving you further and further behind in evolution… Until the losers become the next missing link.
Or, roles reversed if you’re a winner. 😉
