Add humility to your pride for jealous people’s benefit
If you want it all, it is the need of a jealous person to see you fail in some other area of life. Usually, this means romance. You either have to champion some other way of life such as being a Christian will give you all that can be admired, coming from a specific place; being someone group’s champion. Maybe you don’t want to be. Maybe your dream just doesn’t fit the group identity of a Christian or someone from your state, country, or gender.
So you identify “a failure” somewhere. You fail at living a modest life. You fail at finding joy in parenting and family life. Maybe you fail so much you don’t even want to try. You’re too greedy for fame or sex to be a good parent for example.
You don’t need to dwell in these thoughts, but you can simply drop that into the interviews. Something for the jealous (narcissistic) people to hold onto and to focus. “He’s not special. He’s was just lucky.”
If you need authenticity your confession to failure must be as authentic as possible for your benefit, not theirs. It basically sifts your what you want to failure of wanting something more wholesome and something that a better person than you can continue thriving for and to be proud to want. Your success requires you to give others pride for something else.
If you can’t find your True Emotion Mirrors, this maybe the chokepoint; you’re too proud of yourself for the liking of a narcissist.
Help your listeners to rebuild their injured ego if you have to point out superiority OR DIFFERENCE to other people. “I am this, different thing from you, but here’s how you can still think yourself as my superior.”
