Can two people be friends after they’ve dated?
The irony is that the Idealists* are the ones who have no trouble letting go of a relationship or, more accurately, redefining the relationship to more accurately match its natural flow. The Survivalist*, who are completely co-dependent, do not have a half-way mark to a relationship, and they only have two modes; deeper, or disengage completely. The Idealists* often allow themselves to get too involved in a relationship; they start relationships with less fear than the Survivalist*, thus giving more of themselves to even a casual partner than what the Survivalist* would. Therefore the Survivalist* interprets the relationship being deeper than what a Idealists* intends it to be, and while the Idealists* is still trying the relationship on so to speak (usually already knowing going into it that the relationship wouldn’t last) the Survivalist* may be completely convinced that this relationship will be a life long one.
