Connected in spirit, friends in spirit, enemies in the real world?
There is more than one type of soulmate connection, and that also means that the in-spirit connection is different based on the person-to-person chain. While it is true we are *all* connected in spirit, it is not true that we are all friends in spirit. It is true we all help each other to get what we want, but we also fight each other for the prize, and that’s getting what we want as nobody wants a prize without a competition. The competition needs to be real for the prize to mean anything. We’ll all get what we want, and to a lot of people it is simply knowing one’s own place in the hierarchy.
Young Soul* seem to feel that they are always friends with everybody, the love is all-encompassing, all-enduring, and omnipotent. That we’re all “one” and that we’re all united by the same love. Old Soul* sees it a little differently. They see humanity as a valuable whole, whereas the Modern seem to forget there are other people and entities around, and “we’re all one” to them doesn’t mean all humanity but “all of us soulmates.” Therefore, they romanticize soul abuse (haha, I should be Gen Z) by believing they will be forgiven, which, from the Timeless perspective, simply means we cannot stop them from reincarnating with us as if they had been forgiven.
Young Soul* may feel the bigger shit you dare to do on a friend, the bigger proof that is of trust and mutual devotion. Old Soul* don’t feel quite that way. Also, the Timeless will subconsciously give them a playing field, which simply means “the worst I’m willing to tolerate,” and the Modern will keep within that field but on the very edges of it. The depth of drama. As time goes on, the Timeless seem to get a lower and lower tolerance for BS, so this means we spend more and more time feeling agitated and upset when nothing much is wrong at all.
The sooner we learn to NOT expect that much of the Timeless, so we don’t even have to forgive them for their failures of non-existent expectations, the faster we’ll find peace and calm in ourselves. That said, we must cut out certain unrewarding soulmate connections just to gain a more exciting group of people (and animals) with no “space holders” in there.
So there are people who think they are your friends in spirit even if in they are your enemy in the real world. That view is not shared across the board in the spirit world, either.
