Ever so slight warning is in order.

You know what… This is a bit of a warning that you’ve gotten yourself involved with a romantic. While this sounds like a nice thing, there are thorns in that rose. Romantics tend to want a relationship so badly, that they’ll take every opportunity to find their true lover – even among people who they really shouldn’t consider to be anything but a friend. This means they’ll go through the motions of falling in love, trying to deceive themselves that they’ve finally found true love MUCH MORE than trying to deceive you they’ve done it.

Men are not safe from this. Many, many women are romantics, and they tend to WISH their boyfriend was their true love. They want marriage so bad, that they ignore the fact they’re not truly in love with you, just to get that white dress… They get easily caught up in the romance of it all, before they realize that oops… True love doesn’t come in pure white silk… It comes in mud, blood, and tear-stained scrubs sometimes.

Men can also be romantics, ladies, and this puts you in the way of trouble. He can just as easily wish to fall madly in love, and if he can’t find a reason why he shouldn’t be in love with you, he may insist to himself that he is in love with you even though he isn’t.

This post urges you to remain cautious and to pay attention to that little thing about your new partner… Romantics are not usually going to settle for sensible in the long term, even though they may, at times, try their hardest. They’ll go after true love… Eventually. They do want to find that eternal love, but it looks like it’s not going to be you.

(Sometimes this applies to friends as well. Some people want a friend so bad that they’ll lie to themselves that this new person is awesome… Much better than any previous friends…)
