How to have ideas?

1. Stop looking at others for new ideas; new ideas don’t exist where others have already had them. Over-used ideas won’t make you rich or famous.
2. Still, never say no to creative temptation of “I want to make my own version of that…”
3. Look for problems, not ideas. Once you find a problem, you’ve got something to solve; room for an idea.
4. Look for ways to have fun that hasn’t been done yet. Very profitable.
5. The best way to be original is to never copy anyone else. (See point 7.)
6. Tweak what’s already there. If you don’t like something, alter it until you do.
7. Learn free association practices. Start with this website’s random images.
8. Start making silly remarks to yourself, like a child. State the obvious as you’d never seen it before. Soon, you’ll start noticing things that are not obvious.
9. Allow yourself the inappropriate thoughts; “I don’t like” “I’m not happy with it,” “I need,” and “I don’t think that’s accurate.” Allow yourself to think of uncomfortable thoughts and new, potentially stupid thoughts. Criticize them later; first, think all the stupid, gullible thoughts through… Like “OMG, Amber Heard might be telling the truth!” You know she isn’t; figure that out LATER, but for now, just listen to her lie to your face without critique. Express these thoughts selectively if at all.
10. Take pride in being intelligent but don’t fear being momentarily stupid. Your IQ doesn’t change on a daily basis based on whatever you’re thinking at the moment; your IQ is safe.
11. Go to hardware stores or haberdashery shops or arts and crafts shops, and try and guess what everything is used for. Don’t read the labels until you know at least one or two ways that some obscure thingamabob might be used. This is practice… And can also accidentally lead to ideas.
12. Be curious about everything, and never be too above something to figure out what it is and why – both abstract and tangible things. Watch a lot of YouTube videos without shame or guit. They are VERY educational. Watch even stuff you have no intention of learning, you NEVER KNOW where the next idea comes from.
13. LET YOURSELF THINK. You don’t need a permission slip to access your own god damned brain or for the use of it.
