They won’t care enough (about themselves) to chase you, and you don’t care enough (about yourself) to chase them, no matter how much you love them, ironically. Old Soul* accept misery and unhappiness in relationships with an ease that is scary. If you pretend to be hard-to-get, they’ll shrug their shoulders and think “well that was too good to be true anyway, maybe next time” and they move on – or accept that they’ll always be in love with you but can’t have you – life is the way it is. They’re both optimistic (there have got to be others) and pessimistic (well they were too good to be true anyway.)
