Letting go of it; why does the Law of Attraction require you to let go of what you want?

You may have studied the Law of Attraction. It states that you have to become very clear about what you want, visualize it, put energy to it, and yet, somehow give up on it – let go of it.

There’s a reason why that’s important.

If you hold onto something your negative spirit attachments (or negative spirit guides; misguides) will blackmail you with it: “You’ll have it if you do this *insert anything you don’t want to do but they want you to* and then we’ll give you what you want.” Often it is something like forgiving someone for something, giving money to someone to prove your virtuous nature, and making sure that once you get to your goal, you’ll be securely on the leash of your karmic soulmates.

And if you really don’t want to give into them, you’re in a stalemate situation. Either you give in, or you learn to emotionally let go of the outcome while still working toward it. You have to decide which is more important to you, NOT to do what you know you’re asked to do, or to do as asked, or to get what you want either way.

For instance, an abusive ex has decided that marriage is the most important thing in your life, and getting back with your ex is clearly a sign you’re “more spiritual now,” so you can have what you ask. That’s blackmail and works directly to the benefit of someone who shouldn’t be judging your level of spirituality in the first place.  If you decide it’s more important to you to stay away from this person, decide that you’re willing to give up on the outcome in order to save yourself from this person – and consequent future lifetimes with them.

Another reason is that if you let go of the outcome, you relax more with yourself and others. It allows you to work without as much stress and put the fun back into it.
