Mindfulness when you are not somewhere pleasant.

If you’ve been doing mindfulness only in places and situations that are pleasant and worth remembering, you’ve been doing it wrong. 😉 It also helps you in situations when things aren’t great. Imagine sitting in a class you can’t avoid, with your mind thinking: “I shouldn’t allow myself to be treated this way. There are so many other more important/more fun things I could be doing right now. This is a waste of my time. They’re sooooo stupid. Are all of these people MORONS…?” This is the time to stop thinking of all the other ways you could be spending that time.

You figured it’s best that you take this class, be at your job, or whatever annoyance you’re going through, so you might as well stop thinking what else you could be doing. Apply this to your gym sessions, your diet plans – when you decide something is worth doing, stop your mind from giving you alternative choices.
