Narcissists** reverse “show and love” which makes them act wrong

Normally, people associate the process to receiving love/admiration as such:

Seek attention -> Put on a show -> Wait for the judge’s deliberation -> uncertain outcome

Narcissists** skip a few steps here, and their expectation is as follows:

Seek attention -> Receive love. (Attention gained always equals love, without fail.)

Their reasoning is the reasoning of an infant child, cry/scream/shout/dance/carry on/play/wake up/tie shoes -> be loved.

It is possible to REINFORCE narcissistic tendencies in a child by praising them for EVERYTHING they do, conditioning their logic to assume that whatever they do is AMAZING and worth praise and love.

A narcissist will also associate ANGER and being scolded as love, just like a child that understands that the anger is simply parent’s way of making sure you are safe and secure.

A healthy mind MUST be able to process information that tells them: Your behavior is making you LESS LOVED. You are not behaving in a way that is appreciated by those around you. OR EVEN “you are currently DISLIKED by others”. A healthy mind REQUIRES HONEST FEEDBACK during all ages of development.

Harsh punishments are not necessary, but you have to inform the child of “You know that is not A NICE THING TO DO, honey.” Appropriate punishments are a required part of bringing up a child.

Pay special attention to children with disabilities and girls who are unusually beautiful or unusually ugly, because they will often ALSO be treated with an extraordinary gentle hand by everyone around them UNTIL they cross the line of narcissism and receive bad reactions and criticism they are completely unprepared for.
