Not all people play games even when in love.

This might come as a surprise to some of you, but not all people play games EVEN when they’re in love. They say what they mean, they mean what they say, and don’t give you a run around just for the sake of giving you a run around. They are just as open and honest as they seem. They also are quite likely not even aware what these games of love are about, so they can’t interpret you when you play games and try to make them understand you between the lines and whatnot.

If you try to understand what a straight-shooter is trying to tell you by trying to understand the message by reading between the lines, you’ll get confused. If there’s nothing between the lines, but you insist there must be, you’ll be more lost than with people who never say anything straight. I like to say: Nothing confuses a liar (or a player) like a truth-teller. They’re not telling you the truth because they want to confuse you, most of them are desperately trying to be understood and have no idea why their message isn’t sinking in. It’s right there. They already told you. A million times, and you’re just not picking up.

This also means that sometimes when someone tells you to fuck off and eat shit, they may not mean that literally, expecting you to eat shit, but they may seriously not mean anything cutsey, sexy, or mysterious by it.

When people are not playing games with you, and you finally get it, don’t expect there to be a JACKPOT moment in sight when girls in skimpy golden dresses rush out from behind the scenes to celebrate you winning the jackpot for figuring out what that person meant. It wasn’t a game; the realization is about 10 years late, and you just now finally understood it. You didn’t win a game, you just proved yourself to be inconceivably thick. It doesn’t come with prize money, or a surprise for the winner, but hopefully you haven’t lost what you could have had if you had figured this out in time… Because you TRULY CAN lose all of it, not only the prize but also what was yours before you decided someone is “playing a game” with you when they truly weren’t.

Sometimes there IS NO SILVERLINING to these things, or it’s basically “well, now you know.” Obsessive positive thinking may sometimes be a little unhealthy. You have to sometimes just bite the bullet and realize you’ve managed to lie to yourself, thinking someone else is playing a game with you, when you were the only one doing it.
