Please do not believe everything that you hear about a person – even from their best friend or mom.

How well do you feel your mom knows you? Your dad? Do they have a clear vision of who you are as an adult human being? Most people would laugh and say, “hell no.” Therefore, DO NOT believe someone’s parent, PARTICULARLY their mom, when you ask someone what they’re really like. (Moms of adult children get lied to more than dads.)

Also, even if that person is a “best friend” it’s not always “an absolute best friend” but a “comparatively best friend” or even “wishes to think of themselves as their best friend but isn’t even close.” They may not know that person quite as well as they think.

ALWAYS know that the less psychologically aware a person is, the MORE they are talking about themselves than the person they’re supposedly talking about when they talk about someone else. They assume a lot. It’s called projection, a practice of filling up blanks with your own personality and situation when you don’t know what’s actually going on with someone without actually realizing you’re doing this. “What I would do in that situation? If it was me, what would it be about?” But… It’s not them.

Projecting “as a woman” or “as a man” is also a very lacking way to understand another person. A man and a woman of similar personalities have a lot more motivations in common than dissimilar men have with each other, and women who are not very much alike have compared to each other.

If you pulled this post up at random, the Universe is telling you that you’re listening to another person’s view of a person you care about more than you’re listening to that person or yourself. Not a good idea in this case.
