Prediction of the Future; what do psychics see?

Time doesn’t exist. It is a man-made concept to explain before and after and recognize a pattern in seasonal changes, etc. Time is simply paper and tracking events in relation to the Earth’s position to the Sun. Very local, right? Still, time moves at the same rate everywhere: It doesn’t. It doesn’t move, twist, or bend, even if light does. It makes not a single bit of a difference how fast light moves in the Universe and in what direction; time itself won’t alter one tiny jolt by it. If you moved faster than the speed of light, the effect on time would be that you just broke a speed record, not that you reversed time itself.

That is to say time travel is absolutely impossible. The closest thing we’ll ever get to it is recording reality in 3D and then playing back that recording. We could now build 3D composites of events recorded from multiple angles, and wannabe time travelers should focus on that and quit chasing photons, hoping to get somewhere. A fool’s errand.

So, what do psychics see?

What do psychics see if time isn’t a timeline but one spot we call “now,” where the past is set and the future hasn’t happened yet? Can you imagine having a job interview next week? Not knowing anything more, you can already tell in a ballpark what that situation will look like. The more information you’ve got, the more accurately you can predict that situation. A psychic has access to information that most of us don’t: How does that person usually behave? The other party to it? What does any player in the situation want, fear, or plan to do? And with the composite of information, the psychic is given the likely outcome: This is where it looks to be going.

You can change your future.

If you don’t like where things are going, you can absolutely change the outcome by choosing a different action in the now. You can fix things. That is the point of visiting a psychic; otherwise, why even bother going through the motions of having an effect on anything? If the future were set, it would make life, choice, and action pointless.

If you believe in a fortune teller…

So imagine Ragnar Löfbrok asking a fortune teller about his future. He’s being told he’ll be a great Viking king; his sons will grow up to rule all of Norway… Now. If you believe the prediction with a whole heart, you will have the self-confidence to take action that you probably otherwise wouldn’t. You fulfill the prediction, not because the future was set, but because you gained self-confidence that this is the way it’s going to go.

Now, if you have a more sensible approach to fortune tellers, you’ll still doubt yourself, and the outcome is that much less certain. But don’t berate yourself; a fool’s courage is still just a fool’s courage.

How to use a psychic ability if not to tell the future?

Use a psychic ability to itemize things you can do to change toward a better outcome. Find flaws in your own approaches. Indeed predict things: If I do this, what will be the outcome? If I do that, then what will happen? Sure, it’s a lot harder to do that way, your options are more than just one, but it will undoubtedly give you a higher sense of purpose and control, than to travel as a passive passenger through pre-set life plan you’ve got no real control over.
