Spirit Doubles and soulmate case study: A few rock musicians
On a lighter note this time. 🙂
You know how soulmates (True Emotion Mirrors) are said to resemble each other quite a bit? These are not the only souls that carry similarities that are awe striking. We also have something called Spirit Doubles, who could be also called by the name of a doppelganger. They resemble each other so much, that they may seem like they were mimicking each other or that they should be closely related by blood, even though they were separated by continents and didn’t share a drop of blood. I would like to present to you a few examples of such connections, where both soulmate bonds and Spirit Doubles are mixing and intertwining.
First, to illustrate the relationship between these rock stars, I’ll draw you a graph:
Now, I must first stress that not all of these men are each others soulmates, nor do they belong to the same group of soulmates, however, they do have an interesting dynamic nonetheless. So, for those of you who these guys are a bit unknown, let me clarify: Keith Richards and Mick Jagger are a legendary pair of Core Personality Mirrorswho are known for their legendary rock band the Rolling Stones. They were idolised by the next generation rock super stars, Joe Perry and Steven Tyler, who together formed the rock band Aerosmith, and set aside from the rest of the band, they were commonly dubbed as the Toxic Twins – how fitting, right? Both bands were idolised by the idol for the Generation X, Nuno Bettencourt, who is the lead guitarist for the rock group Extreme, which, however is lacking their version of Mick or Steven, and in which Nuno seems to be lacking at least one soulmate from his life.
Okay… Let’s start this! First came the Rolling Stones. Nothing unusual about it until the 1974, when Aerosmith started making waves on the other continent, USA. The press noticed the similarities instantly, Tyler and Joe were constantly being pestered about the similarities between them and Mick and Keith, with the insisting idea that Aerosmith was built to be the American version of the Brittish Rolling Stones. They are not the closest Spirit Doubles there can be however – but the resemblance is still being made fun of, recently Mick Jagger was mimicking Steven Tyler during Tyler’s Idols gig:
I don’t know if Jagger fooled anyone there, but Tyler did pass for Jagger before he became famous in his own right – him and his friends coaxed a group of crazed fans to follow their car thinking it was Jagger shouting at them after their show in America. The resemblance is uncanny, in the photo below I think Jagger looks more like Tyler than Tyler does himself!
As a curiosity, I must add that I have spotted another Tyler right in my home town, maybe the Gen Y version of this series of Spirit Doubles!
Keith Richards is not as much a Spirit Double to Joe and Nuno on his own, but paired up with Jagger the comparison is instant. However, the resemblance to a Finnish rock star Andy McCoy (guitarist to a rock group Hanoi Rocks) is staggering. Keith and Andy are clear Spirit Doubles, and again, comparisons had to be made in the media. Interestingly Andy’s soulmate and singer Michael Monroe resembles none of the other men mentioned in this post, other than he has that same flamboyant approach to rock music as Steven Tyler… and rocking quite a large pair of lips!
The resemblance gets closer to soulmate connection when we start looking into the similarities between Joe Perry and Nuno Bettencourt, and things are starting to get bizarre to say the least. Joe and Nuno both come from Portuguese background. They are both born in September, on the 10th and 20th respectively. They both moved to Boston to become world renown rock guitarists. And they would easily pass for close relatives, although at least I don’t know of such connection.
They are both idealists by their personality type, but where Joe’s idealism took him to taking more and harder drugs than anyone in the name of competition and rock-cool, Nuno’s idealism manifested in somewhat limiting and crippling idea of what is and what isn’t cool for a rock star to do. (He so needed his personal Tyler to break his anal-retentive idealism!) Difficult to explain; it will be quite clear for an obsessive fan such as myself (I wouldn’t have survived Teen Age without Extreme and Aerosmith – the Rollers to me are somewhat unfamiliar entity) but for example, Nuno would omit all visual elements from their rock show, where Aerosmith would have gone out guns blazing wearing peacock feathers in the name of putting on a great rock show. (Tyler idealism, by the way, without him Perry and the rest of Aerosmith would have been and is quite understated much like Bettencourt.)
The celebrity look-alikes and impersonators are sometimes Spirit Doubles of the people they impersonate – and sometimes their soulmates. Which it is, is often determined only by their feelings towards the person they imitate.
What everyone should take from this is that the soulmate connection is not the only thing that explains eerie similarities between two people. Spirit Doubles can also be male and female, but they tend to fall in love with each other, whether their connection ends up being that of a full or Trail Companion*. And, as for soulmates, the Spirit Doubles are also numerous. Each of us have a lot, some are famous, some are not.
