Test Your Faith In God (You prayed for it. :))

Ever prayed for your faith to be tested? Ever wondered if it would last? If so, here is a test for your faith, whatever god you follow, here’s a test of faith in him or her.

If they were a human, would they be a good person? Even a decent person? Admirable person? How would they rank as someone who you’d trust, or like?

What do you have to do in order to receive anything from your god? Imagine a friend or parent of yours would do the same, how would you feel? Some stick is good, but what is a stick and what is a beating?

In terms of their morals, do you think they are doing the right thing or asking others to do the right thing for them? Have they ever, in history, asked you to kill innocent people of another race or faith just so you’d show loyalty to him?

As a child, I asked this question of someone who was teaching me about my faith: But aunt. If those kids in Africa had never heard of him before, what happens to them when they die? Do they go to Heaven or Hell?

This question bothered me, because if we only live one lifetime, God is one, and all the world should worship him, isn’t it logical to assume he, as an infallible entity, would have organized a way for those people to follow his word, too? And, if not, how is it fair, that this entity would either let all of them in – pretty unfair considering the shit his followers had to go through to get in – or would he condemn all of them to Hell or Limbo or something, simply because he’d failed in giving them even a fair opportunity to follow his word?

My next question was far less philosophical: How is the angels’ clothing tailored considering the wings?

Is your God fair, considering how he treats the people of other nations? How is he unable, if he’s supposed to be one, to prove his or her point to these people, supposed he is the only “real” god? And how is killing supposed to help in turning people into good people, when all statistics show that being exposed to violence makes you more violent, not freaking peaceful and god-loving?

What does your god do to the people he loves the most? Does he show he loves them by lavishing them in riches (the very stuff he says is immoral and what not?) or does he impoverish them so that they’ll never be able to help another suffering human being if they happen to live in a moderately nice neighborhood but lack the funds to travel somewhere where all possible help is needed? So either way, a gods’ relationship with money tends to be a bit skewed, unrealistic, or scared: “Money will feel better to you than my love”. (Which is logical in the same way as jealous husbands insist that their bride must be a virgin so they’ll know no better about a better lover with a bigger dick. Insecurity, that is, not something one would expect from a god.)

Now, I am not anti-spiritual by any means. I do believe “gods” exist in the same way as presidents and kings exist, only in the spiritual world. The same way as kings have risen to power, it took violence and manipulation, politics, lies, cheating, and bullshit, and a few obedient followers willing to die for the cause. When gods are concerned, they’re simply ancient kings with a medieval attitude that have never gotten over their power-hunger… If you ask me. And you are the idiot they’ve imployed to speak well of them to the general public. (I’ve been at the job for FAR TOO LONG, to be honest, and I’m the whistleblower.)

There has been other whistleblowers before me. Lucifer is one of them. (The Christian archangel that fell, as he started questioning too many things for god’s comfort levels.) Gods have a habit of calling their critics with awful names. It’s the same tactic as calling someone a fatty for not conforming to the skinny standard, or calling a kid who asks the teacher a bit too many difficult questions “a disrupting presence”.

Now, I don’t ask you to turn on god, there’s no possible good reason to do so, and nobody you could slay to make things any better, I am asking you to just quit. Just question him, it, yourself, your motivations, and just use your own logic to honestly look into if a god-like yours is worth worshipping… If he was a human, would he be worth it? Would you so willingly obey his command?

Heaven, then? Have you ever felt like you’ve been here before? That you do, in fact, incarnate? I do believe the Hindus got this one right, we do come back, all of us, without fail. Therefore, it makes no sense to live a lifetime after lifetime in a horrible way just to get NOWHERE. And even then, has the description of Heaven ever truly motivated you? You’ve been just thinking “Hell sounds like an awful place, I don’t want to go there?”

Karma is a much better motivator. If you know that the people you’ve hurt in this lifetime will have an axe to grind in your next, I’d say that makes so much more sense than hoping for 72 virgins or a harp-playing angel to make you happy in the next lifetime. The virgins, too… A reward of sin in turn for not committing that sin in life, and for killing a bunch of people who have never had anything personal against you or your god, but who choose not to be stupid enough to worship him?

Do you realize what happens when you pray your faith to be tested? Nazi Germany is what happens, your kid getting bone cancer is what happens. Your daughter being gang-raped by 12 brutal men, and her winding up liking it is what happens. Do not pray for your faith to be tested, it’s asking for inconceivable ill into your life, something that would MAKE YOU QUESTION THE INTENTION AND GOODNESS OF GOD. Your trust in your own faith is not worth the fucking test! Still, somehow, spurred by your own ego rather than genuine emotion, you decide to trust that the asshole that made this happen had his reasons. He did. YOU ASKED FOR IT, and he saw no moral dilemma giving you what you wanted.

Gods are not imaginary, it’s just not smart trusting a psychopath with dubious morals.

I do think, tho, that gods are not the same for everybody, not even within one faith. Where the same god affords one person of faith the rewards in gold and silver, elsewhere, his favorite is starving and being beaten to death. Fair?

Also, if god would want you to have freedom in choosing your god, they wouldn’t announce themselves to be “a god”. When they announce themselves to be a god, they already give you no option but to follow.

And for the love of god… In all honesty, those of you who are wicked enough to practice premarital sexual love and all that (marital sex is rarely as good as)… I’ve never loved or felt as loved by God as I feel with a mortal man. Without the love of a mortal man, I would have never even considered the following god. It was the goodness of mortal men that made me into God’s favorite, not God’s love. I don’t even know if he understands the concept.

And between Allah, Christian God, Mohammed, and Jesus… Who do you trust? The prophet or the god?

I trust the prophet.

But not on the nature of god, but the nature of himself.

Just saying.

If these gods have any merit to their name, let them demonstrate their goodwill, power, and “truth” (if they know what the fuck that word means) and MORALS without us having to resort to ancient texts the origin of which is dubious at best. I am not satisfied that a god worth worshiping would threaten, for example, to burn Australia to the ground, or decide to demonstrate his power to move armies in his name to threaten the non-believers… I have no doubt they can do it, they’ve demonstrated it over and over, but are these wankers good enough people to curb their fucking instinct of being nothing but GIGANTIC assholes?

HOW about you pieces of shit save us from the perils of a god damned global warming and start growing shit where shit hasn’t grown in fucking centuries. Not literal shit, even though you assholes would be tempted to take that literally, I’m sure. :p

And no. I still won’t worship you, but at least you’d be a half-decent human being, morally speaking.

There’s something wrong when you trust the morals of your dog over the morals of your god. And if dogs are antichrist considering the spelling of their name, I’d worship an antichrist any day of the week. :p
