The causes of depression and happiness are different according to your thinker type.

Cat Thinker get depressed when they feel they can’t ever have the sex they want and need again or for a long time to come. Dog Thinker get depressed if they are not loved (for anything but the sex they give). The fix for depression, as such, is different depending on whether you’re Timeless or Modern in your thinker type: Cat Thinker will need to liberate themselves from any situation that stops them from pursuing the sex they need and want, including marriage and the Modern need to find better friends and support from their (preferably Modern) family members.

A depressed Timeless person is not going to feel happier being surrounded by their friends and family; it can, in fact, make matters worse. Now, they are not even in a situation where they CAN seek sexual relationships and easily feel pressured to feel grateful for all the love their friends and family are giving them when that is not what is lacking from their lives. They may feel like they are not in a position to make themselves happy again, but they also need to take care of other people’s happiness to boot.

Dog Thinker are usually in a better position to fix their depression, but if they ARE in a position where nobody thinks they are important, they may have very few options in fixing their depression. They should seek open-to-all communities and hobby groups and get involved in anything communal or organizational to feel like they matter. This, to a Timeless, is a possible death trap unless the community is “sexy” in some way. Instead, they need to allow themselves to seek sexual relationships and avoid all non-sexual relationships they can for the time being.

And the Timeless need to allow themselves to be sexually driven, and the Modern need to stop shaming them for it. In turn, the Timeless need to encourage the Modern to prioritize their friends and family and relationships with other Modern people and, if need be, find them suitable friends and domestic partners AND AVOID being the ONLY ONE who cares because that puts too much pressure on the Timeless to put effort into a draining relationship they don’t need – even if they’re currently happy and fulfilled. Cat Thinker will also need to stay vigilante on NOT tying the Modern people into communities that are sex-driven, as the Modern may use sex to gain acceptance as a friend, family member, or an accepted community member, which leads to them consenting to sex they truly don’t want to have. (Their sex must be committal and family-oriented. By the old-fashioned book, which to the Timeless is just a manual for giving themselves depression.)

Cat Thinker need to accept that the only people who judge them for being sex-obsessed are the Modern. It is not the ONLY thing that brings us joy in life, but it is the only thing that we TRULY need the same way as if it were food, water, and shelter. It is a primary need for the Timeless. Everything else is an extra. It is what it is.
