the Survivalist* Student

The first group in the Survivalist* categories is the Student.

The Students are people who are completely externally oriented, they look onto others for answers and they form their idea of themselves on the basis of what others are telling them about them – how else would you? This makes this group very fluid indeed; every time someone tells a Student a  new thing about them, even if it was in conflict with previous information, they accept it without question, true or not, sincere or not, – especially if the assessment is positive. Every positive trait said about them, they will accept as the truth.

Another thing typical to the Survivalist* Students is the love of kind people. They will forever follow a person who has been kind to them, and unfortunately, this creates very troublesome connections to the Idealists*, who are, by default, kind to everybody, but choose their closest friends very carefully. If a Idealists* has taken time to befriend the Survivalist* Student, it makes very little sense to the Student to hear that the Idealists* suddenly doesn’t want to be friends anymore.

The most lovable trait about the Survivalist* Students is their absolutely open mind and curiosity about anything new. They are also essentially ego-free, although they are likely to develop quite an ego at a later age, but initially, especially before they feel “they’ve made it”, they have virtually no ego at all. This means that they do not get embarrassed about not knowing something, they will cheerfully declare their absolute ignorance on topics that everyone else would be blushing to admit they do not know at least the very basics of, they don’t know it and that’s fine, now is as good a time as any to teach them, right? 🙂 And this is what the Idealists* Leaders truly are drawn to. The Idealists* Leaders – the exact opposite end of the spectrum, are often surrounded by very suspicious the Survivalist* (the Bosses and Democrats) who essentially believe the Idealists* Leader made everything they say up, just like that… With no basis to reality. Now, while the Leaders are still mulling things over, they like to think out loud to someone and the Survivalist* Student is a great person to talk to… Partly because they never understand the full theory. I would swear people use Students as industrial spies because they are so easily led and easily coerced into spying for classified information, and so innocent and unsuspecting that the Leaders easily divulge their intellectual property to the Students during casual conversations. On the other end of the spy chain, however, the person who sent them to it will be frustrated because the Student cannot repeat what was told to them, partly because they are not that concerned about the details.

The goal for the Survivalist* Student is to learn to look internally and critically at their own self. They may have a completely unrealistic self-image, for instance, a female the Survivalist* Student of any physical description will believe a man who tells them they are beautiful, even if the man was pestered for an answer. There is only one answer anyone can give to a question like that despite their true opinion of it: “Of course you are beautiful.” The Student will expect an honest answer, as they don’t, quite honestly care if they are regarded beautiful or not, they simply need to know if they are or are not. Therefore, they do not expect anyone to lie to them about a thing like that. “Either I am or either I am not, it’s not my fault if I am not and, frankly, it doesn’t matter!” They do not even know why it would matter, but they know that it does, so when they ask, they are simply curious and expect the person they ask to tell them the truth.

Also, if someone does tell them the truth about such a matter as physical beauty, telling them that they are not that pretty, even detailing why,  confused, they would go to a Idealists* friend asking for clarification. The Idealists* would gasp in horror at the idea that someone would so brutally slander another person’s looks and hurry to tell them that of course they are beautiful, and the Student should not listen to such things, at all!

The motivation to lying about such things as physical beauty, by the way, is truly a social hang-up from early civilized history. It actually helps nobody, but we still do it, systematically, every time.
