The midway point between polygyny and polyandry

I blog A LOT about polygyny and polyandry, but I often leave out the midway point to this, the possibility of several men and several women forming a committed relationship to each other. (I also often ignore monogamy, but I think you all know that beast.) A polygynandrous relationship is, in my view, a GREAT point to start from if you are at all insecure about which way you should go, and also, if you have a True Emotion Mirror connection that you cannot shake, but you also don’t want to live out your days alone.

I would see polygynandry as my ideal “wait until I find my True Emotion Mirrors” as a teen and young adult mode of being. I’d surround myself with sexy people of both genders and not mind too much who is with whom. In time, this group will “clean itself out” as natural pairs and groups form within it, and people leave the group naturally… But also, some groups are naturally formed as they are; think of Friends, the TV series, and you already know what I mean; they shouldn’t have worried about boundaries and monogamous couples, or what do you think? When friends get really close, they should share everything – including each other’s beds.

Now, the reason why this is such a natural way of being, even for natural polyandrists and polygynists (for the time being), is that you can still be rather monogamous even if the monogamy goes into a fast cycle of one night at a time.

A lot of people have at least two modes of polygamy that work for them, either as an ideal or as a temporary solution. I personally could, as I mentioned, easily see myself in a group as well as a polyandrous relationship, but never in a polygynous partnership. The reasons are too complicated to go into but have a feel for it yourself. Most heterosexual people could easily imagine themselves as the centric figure of a polygon, but not necessarily the other way around.
