the Dog Thinker(s)* love through obedience and training.

Obedience, to the Dog Thinker(s)*, is the practice of love. To a Cat Thinker(s)*, it’s a kink at best and a punishment at worst. When the Dog Thinker(s)* searches “How do I make someone obey me?” is effectively the same as a Cat Thinker(s)*’ “How do I become a better partner?” “Bossy” or “Obedient” in the Dog Thinker(s)*’ terms is “a good partner” either way. They do not consider being a tyrant a bad trait in a person; quite the opposite. A tyrant is a self-confident leader, lover, and partner in their books. To a Cat Thinker(s)*, a tyrant is about the worst you can say about a person.

A  the Dog Thinker(s)* feels rejected and insufficient as a partner and a parent when the people they love don’t obey them 100% every time. They both blame themselves for being ineffective and untrustworthy in their role in that relationship, but they also blame their people for being unreasonably difficult. “Testy.” They feel disobedient people are unusually insecure (I know this is weird ass for a Cat Thinker(s)* to even wrap their mind around) because they refuse to obey without a heavy hand. The logic here is that a “testy,” as in a non-conformist or an independent thinker, is seen by the Dog Thinker(s)* as someone who has to “test” their importance to other people by disobedience. They may also feel they’re trying to demonstrate their importance: “See how far you’d go to make me safe (obedient) again before I hurt myself.”

To be bossed around, to the Dog Thinker(s)* means “to be loved” and “to be important.” To a Cat Thinker(s)*, it means “to be mistrusted and to be abused.” They feel if someone has to boss them around and watch their backs constantly, it means they don’t trust them to know their ass from their elbow, and like they were just poised to get themselves hurt or killed by sheer stupidity or that they cannot be trusted to do the right thing without constant supervision. Stupid, selfish, or a criminal, in other words. Useless, worthless, a menace to society – and they feel it is a high offense to their character if they are not trusted to not be those things.

The point of this post is that the very thing about the Dog Thinker(s)* that the Cat Thinker(s)* hates the most is their way of showing and receiving love: obedience. Dominance and control. BDSM. (Which, by the way, mean very different things to the Cat Thinker(s)* once again.)
