the Survivalist* will (attempt to) “kill the former king/queen” before moving on.

Amber Heard did it to Johnny Depp quite famously. I believe it was done to Charles Manson, and a number of other people in #meToo era: To destroy the old crush, or, as I say, the King before moving onto serving another. If another person rejects the Survivalist* who had a “previous king,” they may believe the requirement is to “kill the former one,” and by killing them, I mean reputation destruction. This is also far more typical for female the Survivalist* to do than male ones, who may try some of it, perhaps by confessing “hating” the ex, or spreading revenge porn on them.

This is a very the Survivalist* typical reaction, to teach themselves to hate the ex so they can move on. Idealist* don’t do it quite like that, even though they’ll point out a few flaws in their ex, the reasons for breaking up, but they certainly don’t INVENT reasons to hating them like the Survivalist* will.

The Survivalist* will not consider it a “good kill” unless they have utilized underhanded methods and betrayed the former king in a glorious way. This is one of the reasons the Survivalist* may think you’re still in love with them if you haven’t gloriously and publicly betrayed them yet. Ironically, they try to kill their ex’s lingering feelings, I guess, even when the ex has none left.

The moral of the story is to take an ‘ex’s’ words with a grain of salt when they spread rumors about their ex. It may be completely false.
