TLOTTW:Overcoming the fear of poverty

Tony Robbins, who I blinking love but have to nudge here and there, shares a story about how he lost his fear of poverty. He was at a restaurant and overheard a young boy spending the last of his money to buy his mom a birthday dinner. He was so moved that he gave his last money to the boy, not knowing when he was going to get money again.

When he got home, a check was waiting for him in the mail—a large sum he’d lent someone else and finally paid back. This erased his fear of not having enough.

I have struggled with this my entire life. How to overcome the fear of not having enough to eat. How do you feel brave enough to spend money or give it away without the need to look over your shoulder and count your pennies to the next paycheck?

The Law of Attraction teaches you that you create your own reality, and your view of the world changes the physical events in your life. But like in this story, the letter with his money in it had to be already on the way a day or two before Tony gave his money to the boy. So. Which came first – his bravery that changed his life, or his inner knowledge that the money was in the mail? Wasn’t he in contact with the man who owed him money on the soul level – like we are connected to everyone – knowing, in his soul, that he really had nothing to worry about after he got home from that restaurant? The fact he was brave enough to give his money to the boy, I believe, was a result of him already knowing he would be fine.

That said, I urge  you not to worry about worrying. Don’t do stupid stuff thinking it will magically change your life if you just brave it. Don’t take unnecessary risks thinking the Law of Attraction will cover it. You are right where you need to be – with your fears, doubts, insecurities, and financial difficulties right where THEY need to be, too. You are not a magician, but the world is still magical, and… No, it won’t all clear away as if it was magic, either, that would be so effin’ boring if it did, and we would have learned not to fear a long time ago.

We get everything that we want, 100% of the time, without fail. And the one thing we don’t want is to get shit for free every time. We want to feel accomplished, deserving, and strong. We want to feel smart, and capable. We want to survive, and thrive. Learn. We want challenges much more than free gifts. And we want all of that to be REAL. What is real about it? Resistance. Other people’s resistance. And they resist… This, that, the other. They want what we want and want to take it first. They may not want what we want, but we think they do, and the enemy is our own belief system. The game is complicated so we don’t get bored and so that our achievements remain real.

You do not need to attempt to be brave and give your money away in the hopes of seeing it come back tenfold or kick your Law of Attraction into a higher gear. You will get over your fear of poverty when you already know, in your soul, that you are in the clear. When you know the money is in the mail.

And a lot of other stuff to go with it – but never you mind it, you get this bit, yea?
