True Emotion Mirrors admire each other, that doesn’t mean they’re ass-kissers

Another persistent misunderstanding over what I’ve written before… One of the True Emotion Mirror signs is the natural admiration they feel toward each other. Both (all) of them admire each other a great, great deal. This doesn’t mean that they will be suckers for ass-kissing, quite the opposite. It also doesn’t mean that people who are True Emotion Mirrors are looking to be admired – that’s a narcissistic trait, not a True Emotion Mirror trait.

Although some personalities like to sing each other’s praises, that is not what I mean by saying they admire each other. What I mean that they do feel admiration toward each other, but that is not at all suggestive as though how they express or don’t express that admiration. It can also become a problem between (particularly hidden) True Emotion Mirrors, when they attempt to hide their admiration or play it down or feel particularly incapable of competing with that person.

When I say it’s a “sign” of a True Emotion Mirror connection, I don’t mean it’s advice as to how to make someone THINK you’re their True Emotion Mirror. You can’t flatter your way into someone’s heart or make them think you’re a True Emotion Mirror, at least not in the long term. You certainly can’t MAKE someone into your True Emotion Mirror by flattering them, but you can certainly sift gears with your existing True Emotion Mirror by expressing your genuine, authentic admiration toward them to them. When someone responds to your admiration alone, you’re dealing with a narcissist, not a True Emotion Mirror.

Trail Companions* complementing each other

When Trail Companions* complement each other, the effect of the compliment is tied to the ladder-theory. If you’re a M8R10, your flattery feels amazing to those even one peg beneath you. It can give them a heightened sense of self-importance and also put them into the belief that you love them, truly. They are also very likely to pin you as their True Emotion Mirror even though that’s not the case at all.

One of the reasons why Trail Companion*’s flattering of individuals higher on the ladder than themselves doesn’t sway them in any way is that when a person doesn’t feel that admiration toward the person doing the complimenting, their expressed admiration feels somewhat banal. “It’s nice to hear but unimportant” as the lyric goes in Webber’s High-Flying, Adored. Therefore, even though openly expressed admiration between True Emotion Mirrors is almost magically effective, all soulmates of lesser value can keep singing the praises of a higher-ranking individual (like a celebrity) indefinitely with very little impact.
