Truth and Lies according to a Thinker Type
the Normal Person* in general
To the Normal Person* the truth is somewhat of a matter of agreement. A group decides together what is the truth, what is what we have AGREED to be the truth, therefore religious beliefs, to the Normal Person* are true simply by a matter of mutual agreement that this is what we have chosen to support as our belief system. To a Savants* religious beliefs are not true until proven to be real in terms of actuality; scientifically accurate or at least logically plausible. Therefore, the Normal Person* politician, who breaks every rule in the Bible doesn’t think themselves hypocritical by calling themselves a Christian, as long as they agree to support Christian ideals in public. A good person, according to the Normal Person* ideals will put aside their own beliefs and support whatever the public wants them to support. They will also change their minds when the majority will change their minds; therefore, a sign of a good politician, to the Normal Person*, is someone who CAN AND WILL change their minds as soon as the general public has changed their minds to something different. They are supposed to be a loudspeaker to the popular opinion… It make sense. It is called democracy.
Therefore, the test of a politician, from a the Normal Person* standpoint is to be always alert to the latest polls and to be able to predict the sifts in opinions before they happen really… And, perhaps, to change people’s opinion to their own liking – in a bid to show leadership and dominance. (Their idea of why the Savants* attempt to change opinions.)
All the Normal Person* are likely to be voting for the same party their parents and family have always voted, and marry within the voters of the same party they belong in.
the Normal Person* – Student
the Normal Person* Students will change their minds when they are told to change their mind. They say what they are told to say. They do not predict public opinions, they simply take in whatever they are being told by people who they trust to know better than themselves. (Most likely example: George W. Bush.)
the Normal Person* – The Boss
The Normal Person* Boss is absolutely selfish in every action they take. This is the most selfish of all thinker types, but there is a catch to this selfishness. The Boss believes they have found the right way to live and they have, as if reading a textbook, learned everything there is to know about life. They are a How To -guide on legs, and namely “How to make others do what I need them to do whether they like it or not.” The Boss has 3 different modes of thinking; The Actor (they need to give the perfect performance in the role that they have been given), The Director (the person who makes sure everyone delivers the perfect performance in the role that they have been given; ie. a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a politician.) Lastly, there is the Normal Person* modality; A person who silences all objections of anyone who doesn’t want to play the role they have been given, and forces them back into that said role. (Another example: Joseph F. Kennedy Senior was the father of Rosemary and J.F. Kennedy Jr. Although this could be evil rumours, I am inclined to believe that his daughter Rosemary was threatening the chances for her brother’s presidential election due to her unruly behavior, and he insisted her to be given a lobotomy at the age of 23, to make her easier to control. A Normal Person* Boss in the Normal Person* modality.)
The reason why the Actor, Director, and the Normal Person* modalities are all under the same general heading is because they sift quickly in one person according to what needs to be done to “keep the play going”. This is a highly narcissistic modality. The thinking thus goes: What you cannot prove is not true. It is also not a lie. The only thing that matters is how to control the illusion; how to keep people believing the play is real. They do not think of this as deception but a duty to onlookers; the show must go on, and they can only be held accountable when the majority no longer believes the play is real.
the Normal Person* – Democrat
The Normal Person* Democrat is a person who believes in making democratic decisions to ensure that everyone gets at least their basic needs met. They believe in compromise and taking the “something for everyone” and “we all have to make sacrifices for the common good”. They do not believe that order can be achieved by all individuals doing what they like on an individual level, and they practise this way of thinking as well as they expect that of others.
Therefore, their motto is : “It doesn’t matter what I or anyone else wants, this is how things are done and that is the end of it.” They do not thrive towards great love or experiences, they believe that “realism” means compromise: You can’t have everything that you want, and thriving towards such rewards in life is futile and will only lead to disappointment.
Therefore, they live to serve the status quo: They accept there are people they cannot control. They accept there are things they cannot change. They accept that life is shite, but it is what it is and the best thing they can do is to stop it from getting shitter still. They try to resist change the best they can because they don’t want to risk losing what good we already have in a foolish bid of trying to get more…
Therefore… Their idea of truth is to say whatever they feel brings about the best possible result in the grand scheme of things, and that is decided equally through a public vote. As politicians, they are called “populists” because they will change their minds as the public changes their minds. That is their job. “There is no I in a team.”
the Normal Person* – In The Flux
The Normal Person* in the Flux is very insecure about how to make up their minds. They are most likely influenced by so many different people that they have trouble deciding who is right and who is wrong and how they, themselves are supposed to fit into all of this. You cannot exactly dictate a choice to these people the same way as you can do with a Student who will simply take the latest command as the correct one, but the Flux the Normal Person* will attempt to collect as much information – opinions, that is – as possible, and form an opinion of their own on the basis of them. They can often be heard quoting someone else, because they rarely take accountability of their own opinions – which is the right way to do it, too. So they are simply reporting who said what, and who believes what, as a favor to others who they feel must be going through what they are going through; trying to collect a lot of information about life from other people.
Therefore, what is the truth and what is a lie, to the Normal Person* in the Flux is a very much the question they are debating in life.
It is very unlikely to see these people in politics… Or voting, for that matter. 😀 If they vote, their method of voting is very close to Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe, perhaps following the choice of someone they really like but who has a strong opinion about things: “Well, I don’t know who to vote for, so I’ll vote the same as X because then he/she gets my vote, too.”
the Savants* In The Flux
Although a Savants* is just as indecisive about a lot of things regarding their own life as the Normal Person* in the Flux is about life, the Savants* know they will always vote for the guy who stands for more freedom or failing that, more change. Their primary way of thinking is “This isn’t working, we HAVE TO try something else. ANYTHING else that we can talk enough people to sign up for; no matter that the available options seem crap and crapper, at least THAT GUY doesn’t look like the same ol’ same ol’. They’ll vote for a woman, a black man/woman, or a deranged businessman with just one hope: He/She will bring about a change. Barack Obama was elected by the Savants* votes… And so will Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump be. Either one is weird enough to appeal to a Savants*, but they do have a big choice in their hands: To vote for the same ol’ same ol’ as far as politics go hoping that the fact Hilary is a woman is enough to bring a real change (unlikely) or to vote for Donald Trump, who is, apart from being a man and as sleazy as they get… At least… Different.
the Savants*
An Savant* in a Savants* thinking mode, in addition to the above, will also consider whether electing Trump would be too much of a risk to America, despite the very enticing prospect of change. They might vote for Hillary, just accepting that for the next 8 years, NOTHING will change and that is simply something that they have to live with.
The Savants*, as a group, will always value personal freedom, individual choice; they will take chaos over rigid rules, given the choice. What they fear the most is more rules and regulations, limitations of any kind, including limitations to education, whether financial or otherwise. Personal freedom, individual choice, it is all they really care about; the less rules there is the better, and all rules, for a Savants*, must ensure more freedom, not limitations. The only limitation they may truly stand behind is gun control laws, because guns can so easily be used to limit another person’s freedom, and they hate that. Also, the Savants* are not afraid for much, they feel they can handle most situations where they have enough room to move, but rules, regulations, and guns, those are all things that can limit their freedom, including laws that are subject to interpretation and easy to use in manipulation of others. An Savant* believes in fairness, and would prefer all legal cases be judged completely free hand by someone they can trust, but because they know that is not possible, they will sign a law just as much as the Normal Person* will – to make sure there is some kind of law to protect the freedom of all people. When a Savants* writes a law, he or she will attempt to limit the Normal Person*’s need to control everything, and therefore, deep down, the Savants* are anarchists, as long as the word is eliminated from the Normal Person* definition of anarchy, which is, essentially, a simple change of government by gunpoint. An Savant* anarchy means that there IS no government not even if they could hand pick their own government people, and put themselves in charge. They understand and sympathise with the Normal Person*’s need for a system, but wish they didn’t have to be a part of something they didn’t sign up for – but were merely born under its rule.
An Savant* the Savants* goes along with most laws and regulations and traditions thinking that everyone around them is in just as much pain as they are, more or less, about it, and tries to live as freely as they can within the system. They are not as much weighed down by laws as they are by traditions and expectations from their immidiate family… But they are not shy from taking a stand in politics for what they believe in… given that they can tolerate the wishy-washy way of doing politics; they HATE the constant change of opinion politicians are known for, and they always wish to be the one that the people can trust to not change their opinions on a whim. The Normal Person* will then find them difficult to work with because they never change their stance on anything much without a massive logical fight over it – the Normal Person* need nothing more than “The public has voted thusly…” to change their minds, but a Savants* requires all sorts of studies, reliable information, and statistics to prove that the proposed change has any realistic chance of actually working.
Highly idealistic, the Savants* idea of lying is always compared to the actuality of things; “Is it true that I know this thing will work?” “Possibly not. I guess it will. I hope it will, it is my best bet.” They understand that humans are humans and will take personal responsibility, admit to having made mistakes, and they never shy away from admitting they do not know what is the best course of action because they do not pretend to be gods. The Normal Person*, thusly, vote for anyone else because they cannot trust their leadership, the same way as a Savants* cannot trust the Normal Person*, who will change their mind on a public vote, if a Savants* votes for someone, they want that person to STAND THEIR OWN GROUND, regardless of the public vote; that is what they are voted in for: To make THIS PARTICULAR THING happen. If the political air changes for the Normal Person*, they will drop the Particular Thing they were voted in to change, and go for the popular opinion because that’s what they feel they have been voted to do: stand for the public… The MAJORITY of the public like a true democrat.
One way of losing the Savants*’s trust is to change one’s mind, NEVER accept responsibility or doubt oneself, or to never admitting to having made a mistake. EVERYONE makes mistakes, and only a fool denies that, and if you can’t even see your own flaws, how can you be trusted to know what the hell you are doing in the first place, right? A person who never has made a mistake in their lives is a moron on autopilot, a rubber stamp or a non-individual, and a Savants* feels no respect for such people.
An example of a Savants* leader: Abraham Lincoln. (Need I say more?) the Savants* are great in a crisis because they are selfless, alert, they are idealistic and unbribable, they do think on their feet and are good with fast decisions and establishing things once an existing system has fallen. They are self-confident and humble, but the Normal Person* tend to trust them only when there is nothing that they need to save from being changed… Because whenever a Savants* is unhappy with what already is, they attempt to make it better – the Normal Person* only focus on not accidentally making it even worse.
About 50% of the population, by my crude estimate are the Savants*. But they will never buy the Normal Person* pretending to be a Savants*, so don’t go there – they respect and trust a genuine the Normal Person* more than a pretend the Savants*, but a strong, unashamed the Savants* will get their vote… If that said the Savants* will eliminate all the Normal Person* crew from their close vicinity because the Normal Person* tend to dampen them down. An Savant* can also start sway a public vote to their side, so a Savants* leader is a good bet… And if they say they will never change this, that, or the other, they mean it, because THEY WILL NOT change their mind on a public vote, and you can vote FOR THEM, rather than their party, like a Savants* naturally would.
