Waiting, Patience, and Divine Timing

In everything we do, we are always subject to time. We must grow patient, but not too patient, we must be ready to spring to action, but not foolishly so. We must learn to take steps at the right time. That means no delays, no rushing. One thing at a time. Time, even divine timing, is simply a sequence of events following each other.

The generic truth is, that nothing will happen until it’s ready to happen. The only way you can jolt things you want into action is by making it possible for it to happen. A dog will not come out of his kennel for as long as he’s too afraid to do so. You are no different.

There is always a reason, but…

Everything happens for a reason. All timing is subject to those reasons. However, there is no need to over-mystify that statement. Spiritual people have a tendency to over-mystifying things, but let’s not do that. The reason for a delay is there, you just have to figure out what is the reason. You should also know there may be several reasons affecting the same thing simultaneously.

So. You want your go-cart to jolt into wooshing down a hill. You can sit there and wait for it to do so, but you’d wait forever. At the best of cases, it has breaks or stops on, and it won’t jolt until someone is behind the wheel and someone else gives it a push.

The worst case, it’s rusted to near non-movement and is stuck in a messy bush with a broken wheel. All of that needs to be fixed before this thing goes anywhere, right?

Divine timing is a combination of different people getting their work done

The worst thing is that you may be ready but your soulmates aren’t. You may also notice that it is you who has done a lot of wishful thinking and no real work to achieve the goal you seek. The more you’ve waited for something external to happen and make your dreams come true, the more likely it is that you have not completed your own side of the deal: the work needed for you to get what you want.

What is this work?

Let me again throw myself under the bus of examples.

I always wanted to experience true love. And by that, I meant love that was so powerful, so full, so complete, so utterly sexual, that it would completely take all of me and I would have nothing in this world more important than him.

I was embarrassed about wanting this.

I also knew that the men who made me feel this way were mostly superstars and men who had that special star power that only a few people possess.

I was embarrassed about being so… Predictable about the objects of my feelings.

I was also in denial about my own wild sexuality, the part of me that wanted to fuck everything with a cock and a pulse.

So… Even though opportunities arose to lose my virginity in the hands of my rock idol(s) I turned away from that opportunity as I had too many emotional blocks in my way. There was no way I was going to screw up my first time, the most important thing I knew. So I listened to everyone except myself on how to go about it.

Listening to everyone but myself

I was given the impression I had to date a guy for 3 months before having sex for the first time. He needed to be about my age. I was in denial about wanting to sleep with rock stars, and also denied the full force of my need to be loved and cherished by these men.

Of course, I lost the opportunity to lose my virginity My Way, but that didn’t stop me from screwing up a whole host of other wishes, too. Still, having too much an ear for other people’s opinions.

All of that and a bunch of other stuff needed to be cleared in order for me to even HAVE THE MINDSET to receive what I truly want.

Self-acceptance, acceptance of the reality of you

The first step to clear the way for the divine timing to guide you is for you to accept who you are, without editing.

You must meet yourself without embellishing things and without shame or embarrassment of who you are. The vast majority of my posts deal with self-acceptance and defining the true you for this reason. It is IMPORTANT for you to be both CONSCIOUS of what it is that you seek and ACCEPTING that IF and WHEN the opportunity presents itself, you’re going to grab it and run towards it like your life depended on it! Your immortal life DOES depend on it – the happiness of it, at least.

If you are not aware of who you are and what you truly want, or accepting of it, you’ll let opportunities pass because you might not even realize they WERE opportunities to begin with!

This is good news, by the way, self-acceptance

Self-acceptance, by the way, doesn’t mean that you have to begrudgingly accept that you are, something you really wish you weren’t. It is to simply ACCEPT that OMG that’s what I’ve always secretly wanted but have been too embarrassed to acknowledge it. Who you are is what you wish you were, much more than what you “are”, as in behave like or live like at this moment. That is simply your situation, not who YOU are.

I say this because a lot of times people think self-acceptance means that you have to become something you really don’t want to be, because it sucks to be you, right? No. Self-acceptance means that you realize that THIS is what you WANT to be and that you are going to GO AFTER what you want, no matter what anyone says about it!

The next step is to force others into accepting you, too

It is rare that I use the word “force” in any spiritual context as a HAVE TO DO. I do it in this case because you cannot control the way others view the world or take to it, so if they intend to force you into being something they like, you will have to take the same amount of force to protect yourself. If you don’t they’ll run over you and make you submit to their version of you.

I know, I gave this power away because I didn’t want to force things… I always thought everything will happen in its due time, and that I should go with the flow. However, when the flow is a violent, mindless force, you’ll have to start swimming your way out of it or be carried away with it somewhere you don’t want to be.

Trust your emotions. Don’t manipulate the evidence.

Take emotions as evidence of what is happening around you. They are a reaction TO SOMETHING. They MAY be caused by a trauma or an unnecessary fear, but they are there for a reason. Trust those emotions. Study them. Find out what they are telling you about the situation.

Trying to control your feelings and emotions is like tampering with the evidence of a crime scene. Study the emotions, don’t try to change them or suppress them. Think about what your feelings are telling you. Don’t try to toss them away because you don’t like the look of them.

Your feelings, your intuition, being sensitive to your feelings is what helps you tap to the rhythm of the divine timing. Without emotions, you cannot navigate the field of the divine timing. Your feelings are your only map and your only guide.

Divine Timing – where are you NOW on the sequence of events?

Ok, so if the divine timing is a sequence of events, then you are somewhere on that timeline. What has already happened? What still needs to happen before the desired event can become a reality? To know what must happen, you have to know (feel) where you are.

Accept now.

As far as divine timing goes, without knowing what is NOW, you are trying to navigate a map without knowing where you are on it!

Be patient but not too patient

Patience is a virtue, but too much patience makes you placid. If you are too patient, you’ll find yourself waiting for your life to start and before you know it, your life is over. Be patient, but don’t gather moss. Know that things take time, but accept that you’ll have to help your fate to come to you. Too much patience places all of your future into the future out of your reach, being proactive can start bringing it in.

So, being patient: Casting a fish line way to the ocean will start bringing you your dinner. No point tossing the pole away just because it will take you time to reel in your catch. However, if you are so patient that you are willing to wait for that fish to jump into the boat for you, you’ll be rest assured to have to wait a while.

However, can you trust a person to come to you willingly? Not everything you are trying to catch is a mindless fish.

Everything happens for a reason

So… We all have a major wish that we want to fulfill. It’s there, partially hidden from your active mind, I suppose. Many people think “divine timing” is a magical automatic thing that will bring our wishes to us if we wait patiently enough. This is not true.

We all have a wish that is expecting to manifest. Everything around us is set so that it can and WILL happen. The divine timing can only work for you if you take steps in its pace. It’s like music. You can sit still and let the music play out, or you can dance to its rhythm. First, you have to learn to sense it.

Remember, even divine opportunities pass, but they’ll be presented again when you are willing and ready to go for them.

Divine timing is about what must happen before another thing can happen

“I want to drive that go-cart down that hill like the Devil was behind me.” Sure. Just get to work and free the damned thing and then fix it so you can have your wish.

In my case, I wanted to understand everything. This meant I had to be buried in a deep pile of emotional shite. I had to dig myself out of it and fix it for everyone, simply because I, myself, was hurting.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg, I don’t know, but it all happens for a reason.
