Which God do you serve?
I believe we should think of God and the Devil in new terms. What if I broke down the positives and negatives of both characters, and see if you can find the God you follow. Both of these characters fit the roles of both God and the Devil, but neither is clear cut either. Neither one is clearly good nor bad, they simply require the question; which God works for you? Which party do you vote for?
Please have a look at the table below and see for yourself…
Reward/Name | Safety | Fun |
---|---|---|
Role | “Parent”, protector, guardian | Enticer, tempter, encourager, challenger |
Main mode | Fear (caution) | Risk (trust) |
Domain | Home | The World |
Limitations | Anything risk-free | No limitations |
Virtue | Modesty | Abundance |
Positives | Keeps you away from trouble, harm and potential heart ache. | Challenges you, takes you out of your comfort zone and gives you rewarding life experiences. |
Negatives | Requires sacrifice and denial of pleasures. | May lead you to making huge mistakes, heart ache and troubles. |
Both security and fun have their merits. Neither is also completely exclusive of each other. You can still have fun in safety. You can still be cautious while you take risks. The question is, again, how far you lean towards one or the other? Which one is the Devil in the deck of Tarot?
