“Who will break first” – rivalry over the love confession.
There are True Emotion Mirrors who will deny loving each other as a form of lover’s game of chase. The idea is that although the love is mutually agreed to be obvious, they’ll both… or the other… play hard to get, pretending they’re not in love even though they both (should) know they’re only pretending. The danger in this game is that some people will find it hard to believe that they would be loved by someone “that cool,” and they take the pretence seriously. They may be from an abusive family, they may be a school bully victim, and they have lost their faith in the idea that they might be worthy of love – especially from someone that cool.
This game may also backfire when both of them are victims of some form of abuse, and even though they both may ignite the game of chase, they may also both give it up for similar reasons. Also, people might not realize that good-looking children are RARELY encouraged to know they’re loved, as the fear of turning your child into a narcissist exists. They’re also often seen as threats. Therefore, they may lack people who are willing to give them the recognition and enforcement that they need to play these games without faltering.
The grim aside, there is a game of hunt that True Emotion Mirrors enjoy – or would enjoy if their counterpart would understand they’re only playing tough.
