Why read Tarot for oneself – why ask a reader?
We all have a different way of observing the world and then structuring it. Some of us are brilliant at one thing, others are brilliant at another thing. Tarot reading is one of those things that each reader brings their own ability to observe onto the table – the better you are at reading people normally, the better you are with Tarot. The more you see the world in music, for instance, the more Tarot will ignite musical thoughts in you – perhaps. If you are a musician, you might want to ask Tarot what area of music you should explore next, or what kind of emotion you have never even tried to convey in musical terms before… You can bet your sweet ass that a reader who doesn’t know much about music would not be able to help you much with a question like that, so, therefore, your own genius is what Tarot will respond to you on a WHOLE DIFFERENT level than to anyone else reading for you.
Another reason why you might want to read for yourself is that people sugar-coat things for you when you ask a professional reader. They might muddle the answer to such extent that it’s not even supposed to make any sense to you at all if the answer is unpleasant for you to hear – and it is often the unpleasant that we NEED to hear when we ask Tarot for guidance. This puts the cards into your hands, and you can ask whatever you need to know without others needing to know your secrets in the process, either.
When you MIGHT want to ask another reader for guidance is when you feel completely at loss with something, and, or, when the interpretations of the card seem locked from you because your ego is trying to protect itself from a particularly painful realization. This is when you might want to flip open your interpretation guide, too, to see what another reader sees in that particular card – when you start reading in this way, make this a clear intent, that you are going to be reading from a guide book, and the message should come through OK in that way, too.
Of course, some readers are masters at what they do, and their field of vision is much, much more developed and keen than what yours might be – or they have an area of expertise that they can connect to their own interpretations when they read for you. For me, that thing would be my deep knowledge and understanding of soulmate situations, my absolutely freakish ability to pick up on people’s perversions and hidden sexual dynamics that simply go missed by most people, and THAT stuff is what I get paid the big bucks for. (That is, if I was famous for what I can do… Or even slightly notorious. 😉 ) Who knows what your thing might be. Might make a brilliant new thing, the celebrity Tarot reader, hey? Everyone will be doing this soon, right?
So, the point being, no two people looks at the world with the exact same eyes, and the same goes with Tarot. Your way of reading is and should be completely unique to you, Tarot simply gives you a new route to connect dots inside your brain, and what a beautiful brain it is going to turn out to be!
