Why some people don’t want to be “special”?
Everybody wants to fit in, but what “fitting in” means to different people is another thing. For the Young Soul* “fitting in” means they want to be just like other people – to not stand out from the crowd. To a Old Souls*, “fitting in” means finding a special place for themselves, somewhere where they would feel special TO THOSE PEOPLE AROUND THEM because they are just like them. So effectively, the wish to fit in means being with people just like you, just that the Old Souls* are a bit less generic people, so they need to find their special people to feel they finally fit in.
