Worst idea ever: “Don’t give them attention, that’s what they want.”

If you LOVE SOMEONE, and they want your attention, for the LOVE OF GOD give them some. This advice, “Don’t give them attention because that’s what they’re after,” is applicable to people you genuinely don’t give a s*** about or don’t want to be attached to for the rest of your life. If someone needs attention to the level of being able to self-harm, self-ridicule, or self-destruct, it’s best SOMEONE, ANYONE, really, gave them a bit of that much-needed attention.

It doesn’t even have to be POSITIVE attention, but HONEST attention would be the absolute best… Even if that honesty was seemingly insulting, but honesty is ALWAYS the best policy, it truly, truly is, no matter what the PC and woke people say. Hiding, pretending, appeasing, all that is simply allowing people to remain in their fantasies, illusions, and delusions, and that’s just NOT HEALTHY.

It doesn’t mean that YOUR HONEST OPINION is based on reality, either, but at least they’ve got the chance to challenge your perspective, which is, again, great for both of you.

A shared sense of reality, I swear, is the best freaking remedy we could ever give this world and each other. The SAME god damned reality. And that means EVERYBODY’s view and opinion counts: yours, mine, sher’s, and your dogs.
